Jim Pederson (D-AZ) called on Congress to extend the May 15 deadline for entry into the Medicare prescription drug program. During an afternoon news conference, he urged seniors who haven't signed up yet to call 1-800-MEDICARE for assistance joining the program.
Pederson's opponent, Sen. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz., has voted against rolling back the deadline five times, despite rhetoric to the contrary.
The Pederson campaign has also begun airing a new ad about prescription drugs. The commercial, titled "Nogales" was produced by Struble Eichenbaum Communications. The script is attached. You can also view the ads at the campaign Web site, www.pederson2006.com.
